About Piobbico

Piobbico is a community of approximately 2,000 inhabitants, situated in a lovely valley 339 meters (1,112 feet) above sea level, nestled between two mountains, Mt. Nerone (1,526 meters/5,007 feet) and Mt. Montiego (975 meters/3,199 feet), at the confluence of two rivers, the Biscubio and the Candigliano, which meet in the center of town.  Blessed with such a location, and surrounded by meadows and forests, Piobbico enjoys a mild climate even in the hottest months of the year.

Piobbico is served by regular bus service from the railway terminals of Pesaro (direct rail connections from Milan, Bologna and Ancona) and Citta' di Castello (rail connections from Rome and Florence via Arezzo).  However, Scuola Italia and The Professional Advantage have plans underway to arrange a private bus service that can be utilized by all program participants, and we will designate a rendezvous location convenient to travelers throughout Italy to transport everyone to Piobbico on Saturday, June 14.  Possible gathering points are Rome (Fiumicino), Milan (Malpensa), Bologna (Airport Guglielmo Marconi), Pesaro (main railway station) and Ancona (main railway station).

For your air travel to Europe, there are regular flights from many major US cities to the large international airports in Rome (Fiumicino) and Milan (Malpensa).  However, you may find it more convenient to fly directly to any of the major European hub airports and arrange a connection to a better situated airport (Bologna, Rimini, Ancona, Perugia) for reaching Piobbico.  We will keep abreast of possible travel options and pass them on to participants throughout the year.
